HEART OF JESUS “BEGINING OF ALL MY THOUGHTS WORDS AND ACTIONS”
San Giovanni Eudes
"O adorable Heart full of love of my Saviour be thou the heart of my hearts, the soul of my Soul, the Spirit of my Spirit, life of my life and the only begining of all my thoughts, words and actions of all the strength of my Soul and of all my senses, both internal and external.”
AMEN

Let us be touched by the Heart of Jesus
Meditation of Sr Teresa for the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Every year the Friday that follows the 2nd. Sunday of Pentecost is celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is contained essentially in the Divine Revelation. The Fathers of the church encouraged continually the faithful to relate to the love of the Saviour given to men, to meditate frequently on the open side of Christ. Through the open wound of the side of Jesus you will reach the heart and you start to establish a parallel between the Heart and the Love of Jesus Christ for Humanity.
But it is through the influence of the Holy Spirit that from the 11th.century in the Catholic church there arose an elaborate theology on the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus encouraged by the mystic phenomenon of the chosen souls like St. Matilda and St. Gertrude.
Saint Francis de Sales, transmitted his devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus to the Sisters of the Visitation.
St. John Eudes, described in the acts of beatification “Father, doctor, and apostle of this devotion”, began the public and official cult, approved at first in many French dioceses and afterwards by many Popes. To the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, St John Eudes adds also that of the Heart of Mary.
In this historical context, a nun of the Visitation in the monastery of Paray-le-Monial, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (1647 – 1690), in the first great apparition of the 27th. December 1673 was instructed by Jesus on the love He harbours for Humanity and His great Divine Wish of saving all through His Heart.
Blessed Mary of the Divine Heart in her interlocutions with Our Lord receives the mission to ask the Pope, Leo XIII to Cosacrate all humanity to His Heart. When she was very sick she dictated to her spiritual director a first letter to the Pope in June 1898 and wrote another one with her own hand in January 1899. LEO XIII IN THE encyclical “Annum Sacrum”, in which he announced the Jubilee of 1900, established as well the act of consecration to the Sunday 11th. June 1899, just behind the feast of the Sacred Heart.
In the XX century the devotion is revived with the message of St. Faustian Kawalska on the Divine Mercy.
