“Violence against women is a public health crisis”

This was the view of Anita Bhatia, UN Assistant Secretary for Women, who was one of the leading figures at the Women 20  – G20 Gender Equality Working Group – just concluded in Rome under the chairmanship of Linda Laura Sabbadini.

According to Anita Bathia, women have also paid the highest price during the pandemic. That is why we need ‘a gender New Deal for women’s work’, i.e. economic policies that promote equality as the only way to improve the world.

“If we want to learn the lessons of the pandemic, we need to focus on women’s economic empowerment, declare violence against women a public health crisis and focus on gender equality as the only way to improve the world’.

Let's engage
to a path of empowerment and recognition
of the
dignity and rights of women.
