Dying of Europe by forest and sea concerns us, especially in Advent time

"It's a good thing that there are green lanterns lit in several houses on the eastern borders of the Union to signal that mercy is not dead and that the civilisation of Europe is not all crucified on top of grids as sharp as scourges"
(Marco Tarquinio, Avvenire of 16/11).

Those green lanterns challenge us because in the woods “barbed wire is replacing the stars above the lands of Europe” – Marco Tarquinio points out in his article of 16 November – while in these days the waters of the Channel and the Mediterranean are still stained with the blood of migrants embarked by mercenaries on impractical means attracted by mirages and unaware of European inhospitality.

LET US LIVE ADVENT WITH THESE CROWNS
OF THORNS AND LIGHT A GREEN LIGHT IN OUR WINDOWS
AND A GREEN LANTERN IN OUR CHRISTMAS CRIBS

Following the proposal of Father Ercole Ceriani, parish priest of the Roman church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Piazza del Popolo.

WE ALL NEED AN EXTRA SOUL

““Even in the darkest times we have the right to expect some illumination...More than from theories and concepts, it may come to us from the uncertain, flickering, often very weak light that some men and women, in life and work, will in most cases kindle and spread during the time they have been given to live".
(Hanna Arendt, Men in Dark Time)
