Week of Prayer for Christian Unity kicks off

"In the East we saw his star appear
and we have come here to honour him"

(Matthew 2:2)

This is the biblical verse chosen for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity to be celebrated from 18 to 25 January 2022. This year’s theme and subsidies were developed by the Middle East Council of Churches. The local drafting group, based in Lebanon, worked virtually on the texts.

“Never as in these difficult times do we feel the need for a light to overcome the darkness, and that light, as Christians proclaim, has been manifested in Jesus Christ,” so write the promoters on the dedicated web page of the Ecumenical Council of Churches (ECC).
