HOLY EASTER 2024
May the Resurrection of Jesus rekindle our passion for life and lead us to reconciliation and Christian love for each other
Following Jesus, the Risen One, let us wake up. Let us not imitate the “sleepers”: first faced with tears in Gethsemane, now sleeping before the Risen One. Will we be more capable of recognising and welcoming him in the face of the suffering, the excluded and the persecuted?
In the icon of the Resurrection painted by Piero della Francesca between 1540 and 1563, Jesus’ gaze “however full of disenchantment and bitter knowledge, that gaze still appears expectant…Only the strength of a superhuman patience expresses his whole figure, a patience that excludes all too easy despair, all rhetorical optimism. What he knows is that he will remain vigilant, sentinel until the end of the night’ (Massimo Cacciari in Three Icons).

The bells also toll today to urge our awakening in the mission of Justice and Peace in the wake of the charism of our Founders.
HAPPY EASTER!
