St John Eudes and St Mary Euphrasia on the net in New Zealand IMMAGINE HOME

The image of St Mary Euphrasia’s shoes was used to remind the staff of a new Refuge, funded by the New Zealand government, of the mission they continue to pursue today in the footsteps of the Founders.

Recently Sr. Monica Walsh, Province Leader, and Sr. Noelene White had the privilege of participating in the launch of a new shelter that has been opened in Victoria, Australia.

The purpose-built facility is run by trained staff from Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand (GSANZ) and welcomes women and children in situations of family violence.During the opening address, Sr. Monica emphasised the link between this facility and the tradition of St. John Eudes and St. Mary Euphrasia of providing shelter. The CEO of GSANZ, Mrs. Stella Avramopoulos, spoke to remind the staff that their presence was a result of the work of the Good Shepherd Sisters and that they, as staff, continue this mission to support women and children.
