International Days of Gratitude and Peace

International Days of Gratitude and Peace

The International Day of Peace was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981, but it was not until 2001 that the date of 21 September was unanimously chosen. The UN decided that the objective would be to call on all peoples to respect the cessation of all hostilities on this day.

The World Day of Gratitude began with the United Nations Meditation Group in 1977 and was conceived as an opportunity for humankind to give thanks for life, for things received, for what we do, for modern heroes, for family and friends, for everything.

PEACE AND GRATITUDE GROW
WHEN THE DEMAND FOR RECOGNITION IS ACCOMPANIED
BY THE ABILITY TO RECOGNISE THE OTHER.

Love with a grateful love
