In Spain, sisters and lay people fight against social exclusion

The Congregation’s newspaper circulated the experience of Bajados, in Spain on the border with Portugal, which since 1985 has seen the commitment of sisters and lay people, motivated by values of tolerance, participation, inclusion, pluralism and freedom, currently serving “about 60 women from different countries, cultures, languages and religions… working together to grow and become self-sufficient”.

In recent years, ‘the sisters have collaborated with lay people and other groups in the Church to found the Asociación Equipo Solidaridad, a non-profit NGO working with vulnerable groups to provide specific support to access work and participate actively in society, each with their own identity’.

IT IS TRUE THAT TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER!
