OVETSHOOT DAY 2021
Overshoot Day comes earlier and earlier (last year it was 29 July). An exception was 2020 when, due to the pandemic, the day slipped to 22 August, a full 24 days later than the previous year’s date, raising hopes. The calculation for 2022 confronts us with a persistent dramatic truth: we waste and exploit far more than we could, and Covid-19, which could have prompted us to change direction, has taught us nothing.
