General Council accompanies sisters and lay people to open wide horizons for mission

The 31st Chapter’s call to action concerning Partners in Mission “calls for a broader understanding of communion, mutual respect, trust, commitment, freedom to live and grow fully and freely in the vision and spirit of St John Eudes and St Mary Euphrasia” (See “Leadership Statement” 2021).

With this in mind, the General Council promoted a Zoom Workshop on the theme: “Building Partnership: Sharing Experiences, Blessings and Challenges“.

Our Region was represented by Sister Teresa Linda – from the Domus Nostra reality of Quinto di Treviso in Italy – who, at the workshop on 08 November, after contributions from the Sisters of Singapore and Peru, shared her experience of partnership with the laity both in the direct management of the Services and in coordination roles between apostolic realities when she was Unity Councillor.

Her testimony highlighted the long process of discernment that has taken place over the past 20 years in the former Unity Italy-Malta have traced a “way of co-responsibility” from which many forms of harmony with lay partners have blossomed for the continuity of the mission in the wake of the Charism of St. Mary Euphrasia and St. John Eudes.

The partnership experiences shared by Sr. Teresa Linda during the workshop narrated the synergies developed from some of the Congregation’s Positions (women and girls, integral ecology, migration) and with Justice and Peace initiatives.
