The National Advocacy Center shares emotions on the 20th anniversary of the 11 September attacks
The memory of those terrible moments that marked the history of our time is associated with a poem by young Matthew Joseph Thaddeus Stepanek, known as Mattie J.T. Stepanek, who was an American poet and author of seven best-selling books of poetry and peace essays. Before his death at the age of 13, he had become known as a peace advocate and motivational speaker.
« As we prepare to mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11,
we share the poetry of Mattie Stepanek ».
To us, these words remind us of Mariangela Gualtieri’s poem “Marzo 2020” on the occasion of the Pandemic, the other Event-World after the 11 September attacks.
